FRIENDLY REMINDERS:
Community Safety:
Do not leave any common area doors propped open. This includes doors to the stairways and the underground garage. We do not want unwelcome guests to have easy access to our building.
If you notice any suspicious individuals in the building or parking garage, contact (call or text) Security IMMEDIATELY at 323-501-1119.
Deliveries:
All packages must be delivered to residential doors. Please make sure to include this in the delivery instructions. We do not recommend you share your access codes with delivery vendors.
Fire Escapes:
Fire escapes must be kept clear. Plants, bikes, or other miscellaneous items must be removed. Please help us maintain a safe environment in the event of an emergency.
Locked out:
Management can hold an extra key to a resident’s unit for emergency use; this is optional. Residents may contact Security for access to the building, but Security does not have access to individual units unless a key has been provided and kept on file in the office.
Parking:
All Santee Village residents are assigned parking spaces in either the underground garage or the Maple garage. Please park only in your designated space. Vehicles parked in unauthorized spaces are subject to towing at the owner’s expense. Misuse of the 10-minute parking garage may result in fines and/or towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.

LIVING CLUTTER-FREE:
Getting rid of clutter doesn’t have to be a long, drawn-out process. Try these tips,
- Toss 10: Grab a trash bag. Find ten items in your home that you no longer need or want and put them in the bag. Toss the bag in the trash or put it in your donation box.
- Clear a Surface: Find at least one cluttered surface, such as a coffee table or dresser top, and completely clear it of all clutter, swiftly discarding any trash.
- Pick through a junk drawer: Whatever you can’t identify or is clearly junk (meaning you’ll never use it) get tossed.
- Throw away junk mail: Quickly go through your pile of mail and dispose of anything that is clearly junk mail.
- Put things away: While carrying a large shopping bag, go through your home and put in the bag at least eight things that are not in their correct place. Then, deliver those items to their proper homes.
RECYCLING REMINDERS:
Our recycling bins are filling up fast! This means that these materials are not ending up in the landfill!
- Please ensure that all items are empty and clean.
- Do not bring items from your place of employment or business.
- Flatten cardboard boxes, including small ones such as tea or tissue boxes.
EASTER TRADITIONS AROUND THE WORLD;
- Good Friday Reenactments: In the Philippines, people actually reenact the crucifixion.
- Polish Water Fight: People splash water on each other on Easter Monday to mark the baptism of a Polish prince.
- Nordic Witches: Children in Sweden/Finland dress as witches, seeking treats.
- Italian Fireworks: Florence celebrates with the “Scoppio del Carro,” a cart full of fireworks.
- Bermuda Kites: Locals fly homemade kites to represent Christ’s ascension.
- Easter Trees: Germans decorate branches with painted eggs to symbolize spring.

INSURANCE:
Each owner/resident is responsible for insuring their personal items/valuables (“personal property”). We suggest checking with our insurance agent to ensure that you have appropriate coverage through your homeowners insurance policy/renters insurance policy.
ROOFTOP/SPA REMINDERS:
We’ve observed that empty glass bottles, used cups and napkins, and various other trash items were left behind in our rooftop spa area this past weekend. This is in violation of the Association’s Rules and Regulations, inconsiderate to other residents, and will attract pests to our buildings.
We would like to remind everyone of the following,
- Only building residents and their guests are allowed on the roof deck. Guests must be accompanied by a building resident at all times.
- No pets of any kind are allowed on the roof deck.
- Nothing is to be thrown or dropped from the roof. This includes cigarettes, matches, water, trash, and other miscellaneous items.
- Noise or other activities that can disturb residents should be kept to a minimum. No disturbing or excessive noise is permitted before 9 a.m. Monday through Sunday, after 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and after 12 a.m. for Friday through Sunday.
- Please be considerate of your fellow residents and clean up after yourself and your guests when using the roof deck. You are responsible for cleaning the roof deck immediately after your guests have left. Please dispose of all trash in the appropriate receptacle or in your unit. For example, if a glass container should break, please clean it up immediately.
- Each resident is responsible for placing his/her (and guests’) litter and debris in the trash receptacles prior to leaving the rooftop common and spa areas.
- The doors and gates on the roof deck must be closed upon leaving. Gates to the spas should always remain closed for safety.

Smoking/Vaping:
- Smoking-related issues may adversely affect the comfort and enjoyment of others within the community, and we appreciate residents’ cooperation in being mindful of neighbors.
- Refrain from smoking or vaping near doors, windows, or other areas where smoke may easily enter shared or neighboring spaces. To help prevent smoke from traveling beyond your unit, we recommend installing weather stripping, using air purifiers, and taking other reasonable measures within the unit.
- Smoking is not permitted on the rooftop. In recent years, the HOA has gone through a costly roof replacement, and smoking/ash damage on the HOA Rooftops will void the warranty. Residents found smoking in unauthorized areas will be subject to a hearing and may face fines.
- Kindly dispose of cigarette butts, marijuana remnants, and any other smoking-related waste properly. Discarding such items in common areas, including, but not limited to, walkways in front of other units and staircases. Such behavior is disrespectful to the property and to fellow residents and creates maintenance and health-related concerns.
Underground Garage:
- Please do not speed in the garage. Speeds shouldn’t reach more than 5 mph in the structure.
- Park your vehicle in your assigned space only. Do not park in someone else’s space or at the 10-minute parking space. Violations will result in your vehicle being towed at your cost.
- Do not drive the wrong way in the garage, as it creates a safety hazard for all residents.
